After switching on, the display shows the current opening of the slider. Therefore, there is no need to reset the zero after each measurement, because the result of the last measurement remains in the memory even after switching off.
ZERO/ABS switches the measurement method from absolute to incremental. This is advantageous in the case when the measured value is used as a basis for further measurements.
With the ZERO/ABS button, the value on the display is set to the zero position /closed jaws/ and the measurement method is displayed.
